This was the first cake I ever baked in a glass bowl and it actually worked well. However, you need to make sure your glass bowl is tempered and safe to use in your oven. I did learn newer glass bowls sold at the store nowadays cannot be used for this. I went to the local second hand store and bought two ancient looking, thick, glass, “old school” Pyrex brand bowls –and they worked perfectly! I find lots of times, newer is not always better. The cake is chocolate frosted in butter-cream and covered in fondant. This cake serves about 32 people (8 slices cut from the chest and 24 slices from the tummy section) You can also do as we did if you need more cake, decorate some coordinating cupcakes and serve with your cake. (2 are pictured) Also be aware of proportions. I made the chest a little too large (even for a pregnant woman) next time I will scale it down a little.
