I made this cake for my son, who loves to fish. It is made from Four 4″ rounds and a 9×13 cake pan. The fishing pole came in a little kids fishing kit purchased at the local dollar store. I used gummie worms for the bait and found 9 squiggly (worm looking) candles to finish off the detail. The entire chocolate cake is decorated in butter cream/decorating frosting. BTW: The head is made from stacking three 4″ round tiers, and the other 4″ round was cut and shaped to make the tail. This cake serves 24 people, plus a head and a tail. Leave it to a nine year-old boy to want a fish & worm cake for his birthday. The first thing he did after blowing out the candles— hang the fishing pole over his mouth and eat the dangling worm. Lol –boys!
