I made this Octopus Birthday Cake for a client in February of 2018. This is made in a Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake with an Andes Mint Fudge filling for the bottom (Rock/Tier) then on top of that is a Vanilla Cake with a Marshmallow filling. The entire Cake is frosted in Buttercream and covered in Marshmallow fondant. “Hank” (the Octopus), that is what we named him; is made in Rice Crispy Treats, frosted and covered in Fondant. He is completely EDIBLE as are the Large and small corals, the anemones, the sand, and …you get the idea. He turned out so CUTE I had to have my picture taken with him before he went out the door, to be devoured, and go to that Big Cephalopod Home in the sky. I will make a post on the “Making of Hank the Octopus Cake” soon so that you can see the progress shots I took as he was being constructed. He was sure FUN to make.
