This cake was so fun. It started as a 9×13 single layer “Texas Marble” sheet cake. I carved it into the shape of the piano. Then frosted with butter-cream and covered in fondant. The gold leafed pages and the Steinway & Sons emblem were painted with food-grade edible Gold glaze. BTW: The legs that support the cake board the piano is sitting on came from a second hand thrift store. They were attached to a wooden wall hanging for a kids room used to hang-up jackets or hats. I simply cut three of the pegs off and smoothed the bottoms. . .and viola —piano legs!
