I made this Fly Fishing themed Birthday Cake for a client in June of 2019. It went out to the Three Rivers Ranch Fly Fishing Outfitters in Warm River, Idaho. It was for an 80th Birthday Party for a gentleman who has been a fly fishing guide for a long time. He has even designed his own fly fishing ties & flies. In fact the fly on this cake is called a “Blue Damsel” and is a fly he created that is sold by Orvis. This Cake was challenging since I have never seen a real life Brown Trout. However, I was happy with how it turned out. The Trout is made in all Edible Hand Sculpted Marshmallow Fondant and then Hand Painted. This is a White Cake with an OREO Cookie Fudge filling. The entire Cake is frosted in Buttercream and then covered and decorated in Marshmallow Fondant. It also includes some Chocolate Rocks and Water Splashes I made using Isomalt.
